I have my first PPL (Private Pilot License)

I done my first Progress Flight Test with a good result
And total Flying Hours is reaching to 45 hours
meaning to say I am PPL Holder (Private Pilot License) now.

So that I am officially pilot now
But not yet an Airlines Pilot

To become an Airlines Pilot
I am still progressing the Ground School
for Phase 2 and Phase 3

After the Ground School we will fly for certain hours
and to become CPL/IR with Frozen ATPL
(Commercial Pilot License/ Instrument Rating with Frozen Airlines Transport Pilot License)
which is allow us to apply as an Airlines Pilot
and flying with Malaysia Airlines or AirAsia or Firefly etc...

The toal flying hours to graduate is 200 hours
So that is still long way for me to go...

Flying to Alor Star and Penang

I was done my Navigation Flight to Alor Star and Penang..
It was pretty fun...
But the time when I was flew is very haze
technically to say is not suitable for fly
because Alor Star and Penang have so many high mountain and high building

Flying in this situation we must 100% focus
and keep looking outside to avoid flying close the high ground

Instrument Flying

Instrument Flying

This is very important
because when we are flying
never always clear of visibility outside
we are flying in high altitude so that is possibility flew into a huge cloud
we can't see anything outside if we are inside the cloud
even though a mountain in front you but you couldn't to see

Or we flying in very heavy rain
This you all should be experience when driving a car into heavy rain
the visibility outside is very poor
so you will slow down your car

Beside....
if you are flying inside the cloud or heavy raining
you may not know what is the airplanes attitude
May be climbing up or descending
or may be turning some where
and you doesn't feel what airplane attitude and going to where
so that could bring you to a danger situation

But how can we solve this problem and bring back the Airplane to correct attitude
and flying to the destination safely?

First we have to learn Instrument Flying...
When we learning we have to wear a hood to cover your eyes looking outside
by the way you can just looking at your airplane instrument
This is the hood that we using to do Instrument Flying
















Airplane Instrument is the one like your car dashboard with the driving speed, RPM, petrol, engine temperature, gear selection, and so on...
Airplane have instrument (dashboard) too
so we can check the flying speed, airplane nose attitude, direction heading, altitude, turning to where, engine power, RPM, engine temperature, oil pressure..............
From all this Instrument we are able to bring the airplane attitude back to normal and safe

Of cause we are not doing Instrument Flying solo
We have instructor make sure the area is clear so he will ask you to turn or climb or descend

Solo Flying is Fun and Safety First for Danger Situation

Nowadays I keep on flying solo...
is seriously fun
No instructor assist me now..
No one scolding you
No one shout on you
I am free
Can do whatever you want to do
But of cause SAFETY FIRST
make sure you and your aircraft is safe

I was having solo flying everyday this week
I have experience somethings
Every flight is different
wind come from different direction
wind speed different
So the take off and landing speed and handling is different also
and now all this rely on myself due to no instructor
have to make a landing in strong wind..

Besides that I have also learn how to be safety
In this week I was having 3 problems..

First is radio problem...
The aircraft I flying radio not stable suddenly when I flying
Erm... This radio is not the one listening music when flying
is for all flyers to listen and talk to Tower for clearance to join for take off and landing
so my radio receiver is not stable and I cant listen clear to what tower saying
that is very danger situation
once the radio fail functioning we can't listen to tower clearance to landing
But of cause we have another way to do after radio failure
is the light signal from tower whether you are clear to Land or not
but the problem is I haven't learn the light signal..
so Thanks god my radio doesn't total failure...

Second, due to tower busy of too many traffic flying around Langkawi
I was holding and maintaining at 1500 feet beside the airport
and i hear the tower ask another aircraft climb to 1500 feet
which mean we are face to face flying into one direction
and we will crash if we still maintaining 1500 feet
And that time I slightly panic but not that panic as my brain is blank
so I use the radio call the aircraft are you confirm 1500 feet which we flying in one direction
As a pilot I have learn that DO NOT PANIC at that moment
just quiet and think what to do at next
So I had solve another danger situation

Third, after we landing and quickly take off again
which we call it "Touch and Go"
Normally after we Touch And Go we have to left turn cause there is a mountain in front of us
but one day tower call me to right turn after touch and go
and I comply to do it..
the problem is after I right turn I saw a high hill in front of me
so I need to climb faster and higher to avoid crash into the hill
after I landed my friends told me as student pilot flying solo not suppose to turn right due to high ground there
So next time we have to say "Unable to Comply"
Is not a tower fault cause tower may thought you can manage to do it
but for safety first better don't turn right..

This three problems is I had the experience this week
is happy to face that
so I learn that how to do in Next...

My First Solo Flying

I done my first Solo Flying on 18 Feb 2011
I am qualify to flying solo now

At the first I don't know any about flying
But I very working hard to learn
Of cause get scold by instructor oftenly because of mistakes

I was remember I was made many worse landing..
it was luckily I never broke the aircraft landing gear (tyre)..
cause at first I can't even land well and always bang on the ground or heavy bounce
I can feel my heart almost comes out from my body while bounce heavy to the ground
And my Instructor keep scolding me
I was feeling sad why I can't handle a good landing
What did I done wrong or how to be better?

But the best part is.....
My instructor not gave up to teach me
he keep teaching me how to do a good landing..
First Landing cannot..
Goes for Second Landing..
Cannot again try for Third Landing..
Forth... Fifth.... vice versa..
I don't care about how many times I try a better landing
I just want to Land like my instructor no feel when touchdown on ground...

Finally
I don't even remember how many hundred landing i made
And now I can landing myself without assistance by instructor..
He feel happy to that and let me go to do my solo flying check with other instructor...

But unfortunately the instructor who check my solo flying is very high requirement
He has full of experience and high requirement
So I was fail the first solo check..
But I never give up...
As I said first time cannot make it so try the next untill the success...

And finally I has clear for my second solo checks..
The instructor also happy to say your flying is better and pretty well now..
And straight away let me go to my First Solo Flying..

On the solo flying...
I was very nervous cause everything is rely on me
No more instructor beside me to assisting
I have to handle any emergencies if any malfunction of system
And the landing I most scare also done very good
no more feel any bounce...

This is the first solo...
the second, third and so on solo flying is coming up..
I have to keep going up~

My Flying Experience

That was about one month I started my flying

Before I was starting to have my first flight
I was very excited and hope to fly faster
But now I realize flying is very very stress
is not that enjoyable as we thought
Pilot is really put so much effort before they become professional pilot

Beside,
flying skill is not that easy as we study from theory
but without theory you can never fly
so theory + practice

The worst things for me is Landing
I still cannot handle landing well
and flying get scolding by instructor is normal

Many people thought that flying is awesome
and very enjoy on the high level
Yes.. that is...
but I can tell you that is for passenger thinking
as pilot.. we are flying in stress situation
we make sure all the life flying safe
and any mistake or not follow the sequence of any technique of flying
you can kill yourself anytime..

So conclusion
flying technique is very important
and practice the technique is more important..

But is feel very stress which I can't imagine before I join to be pilot when I hold the control fly myself
